BLACK TUSQ XL is designed to boost your guitar's tone and performance. This precision nut is made with a special formulation of material based on our highly resonant TUSQ® man made ivory, which couples the strings' vibrations to the neck and is impregnated with Teflon® to improve the tuning performance of your guitar. Playing hard or doing massive string bends, your strings simply glide back into tune.
How does it work? Other nut materials have a tendency to bind the strings in their slots. When you're tuning your guitar you might hear the tell tale 'ping' of the strings releasing under tension or have difficulty keeping your guitar in tune when using a tremolo or doing string bends. There are many temporary solutions to this problem, but wouldn't you rather a permanent one? BLACK TUSQ XL has Teflon lubrication impregnated all the way throughout the material (Teflon is the slipperiest substance on earth...500 times more slippery than graphite.), so you never have to worry about string binding at the nut again. And, since the lubrication is impregnated right throughout the material, it doesn't matter if you sand or file to a different shape...BLACK TUSQ XL will keep on working. So go ahead and use that trem or do massive string bends with the confidence that you'll stay in tune!
